More about the song itself.
– Upbeat and impossibly catchy new single from 8 year old is a sweet reminder of more innocent times.

Although she’s only 8 years old, Kira Lily from Wiltshire has already been singing for five years, so her dream of recording a single was an adventure she was well prepared to embark on.

When family friend Debi Moore penned the first draft of an original song especially for her, Kira was delighted and happily contributed to making refinements to the track herself, aided by vocal coach Charlie Jackson-Allen and her mum Claire Thorne. The infectiously catchy and cheerful Brite Star was the result.

In an age that is somewhat harder edged than times gone by, the track is an endearingly nostalgic throwback to a more innocent era, with Kira’s sweet vocals reminiscent of child stars like Shirley Temple. That said, the instrumentation and production are contemporary and have 21st Century clarity and depth.

The bouncy melody is strewn with handclaps and appealing twinkly sounds and is definitely fun to dance to (even for grown-ups). The lyrics too are refreshingly simple, with their optimistic message reassuring everyone that they can shine brightly. The words seem to reflect Kira’s character. “Kira is just so kind-hearted and not competitive at all in nature, she loves everyone for who they are” says Kira’s mum.

Vocal coach Charlie Jackson Allen said “Kira is a joy to work, with and the song will definitely put a smile on your face and have you singing along after only one listen.”

A video to accompany the single has been filmed and will soon be released on youtube, featuring Kira’s friends from Springmead School in Beckington. “My friends are very excited that they might get to be in the music video,” said Kira. It will be fun. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me in making my song.”

The single, which has been professionally produced by John Delf of Edge Studios, who has worked with The Script, Lily Allen and James Arthur.

Part of the proceeds of the sales will be  donated to IAPWA – The International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals. For more information of the good work that the IAPWA do please checkout the following link
